Propane Security Measures
Since the terrorist attacks on 9/11, certain industries have been faced with increased scrutiny with regard to security. New procedures and protocol have been implemented nationwide to enhance an already heightened sense of awareness and safety.
Our Commitment to LP Gas Industry Security
In June of 2004, two propane trucks were stolen from a propane company here in San Antonio. The trucks were fully loaded with propane. A nationwide search began immediately. The Department of Homeland Security facilitated the search along with the FBI and law enforcement officials at every level. Luckily, the trucks were found in Laredo and all of the gas accounted for. When the local ABC news affiliate asked us for an interview to find out how we reacted to this situation, we happily accepted. Matt Terry, the Vice President of Mission Gas Company explained how we have already adapted to the threat of terror in the post 9/11 world.
- Perimeter lighting at our bulk storage locations
- Security cameras have been installed and monitor activity around the clock
- Employees live on the premises of each bulk storage facility where trucks are stored
- GPS tracking unit monitors the movement of our transport and pinpoints its exact location in real time
We are committed to the safety of our customers. We are also committed to the safety and security of our fellow citizens.
